Following a legal challenge that was made to the general licensing system in England which meant that those using these types of licences may not have been acting lawfully, Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) have issued a consultation on the issuing of General Licences in Scotland.

The Scottish Government has issued a consultation on proposals to introduce new regulations for the licensing of dog, cat and rabbit breeding activities in Scotland.
