Workplaces might think they know what their junior employees want when it comes to wellbeing, but do they? As a trainee or NQ, do you feel supported in your mental health by your employer? If so, what are they getting right? If not, how would you recommend they improve?
We're delighted that this Lawscot Wellbeing roundtable event will be facilitated by Dr Patty Lozano-Casal from See Me Scotland and Trish McLellan from LawCare. They will guide participants to think about their 'ideal' workplace setting in terms of its structure, benefits and working patterns, then reflect on how legal employers of different types can move closer to this ideal scenario by making changes, big and small.
Roundtable participants will remain anonymous and we will not disclose who is participating. However, this event is about how to enable positive change and recommend improvements for employers, so we will not be expecting participants to share detailed information referring to specific employers or individuals.
Post event, we will publish the key recommendations for employers in an 'open letter', which will be shared around the profession.
This event is running during Mental Health Awareness Week 2019, taking place from Monday 13th - Sunday 19th May. Find out more about their campaign for the year and how you can get involved.
We are looking for trainees and newly-qualified solicitors (0-5 years PQE) to share ideas and opinions on how legal employers can make their workplaces better for our mental health.
Those who register interest should be actively keen to participate in the roundtable and share their ideas.
As we aim to run an interactive roundtable, we are capping participation numbers at 15. This means we will confirm your participation on a first come, first served basis. We will also assess that we have a good split by big firm, high street and in-house organisations and will only accept one participant per employer. Essentially, we want to make sure we don't have a room full of people who all work for very similar employers.
When you register your interest using the form below, we will manually reply to confirm whether we can offer you a place in the roundtable. Once you click 'submit' below, your registration has been processed. If you have any questions, or if you don't receive a confirmation about your participation within 3 working days, please contact [email protected].
