  • Douglas Jaap, DWJ Law

    Douglas is a Law Society Accredited Employment Specialist with thirty years experience in dealing with employment disputes for employers and employees.  He has been a Civil Solicitor Advocate since 2004 appearing in all forums in Scotland including the Inner House of the Court of Session.
    He has his own practice DWJ LAW which he founded in 2017 which deals with dispute resolution of all kinds with a focus on fellow professionals disputes.

    Katie Wood, The Law Society of Scotland

    Katie wood is the Law Society’s Head of Admissions. She’s an experienced member of the Society’s staff, having been in the role for more than 10 years. She is the Secretary to the Admissions Sub Committee and the Society’s Board of Examiners and is currently working on a number of projects including the redrafting of the Admission Regulations. 

    She is responsible for the regulatory aspects of traineeships, and runs a helpline for trainees and their supervisors.  Aside from her knowledge of the regulations, she can offer guidance, advice and assistance should it be needed in dealing with issues or difficulties affecting a traineeship.
