This session will look at why it is important to manage the risk of complaints and the possible consequences of failing to do so. Some of the most common causes of client dissatisfaction will be considered, as well as a number of practical steps that can be taken to try to minimise the risk of complaints. This session will complete your risk management CPD requirement for the year.
Catherine Hart is a partner and professional support lawyer at Digby Brown LLP. She has been in practice for over 25 years and has spent the last 12 specialising in professional support. Part of her role involves overseeing various aspects of the firm’s risk and compliance. In previous roles she gained experience in defending professional negligence claims against solicitors. Catherine is a solicitor member of the Scottish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal.
