Event summary

This event, which we are jointly hosting with Edinburgh Napier University, offers delegates the opportunity to catch up on policy research, learn more about contextualised recruitment, hear what students and trainees have to say and take part in discussion about how we can best progress together.

A range of factors affect diversity and our focus during this event is on supporting the journey from university to successful solicitor. We want to ensure that it is talent, not background, that enables students to enter and progress within the profession.

We are also pleased to be joined by Project Scotland who will lead the discussion about millennials in the workplace.

Who should attend?

  • University staff supporting law students or interested more generally in social mobility
  • Colleagues from law firms - particularly those involved with diversity, recruitment and talent management
  • Students and solicitors who are interested in social mobility and graduate recruitment
  • In this the Year of the Young Person, why not invite a student or trainee solicitor to join your group at the event. You can book up to 3 tickets in one booking

Conveners

  • Heather McKendrick, Head of Careers & Outreach, Law Society of Scotland
Jo Haddrick, Employer Opportunities Team, Edinburgh Napier University
