    The tutor will introduce the days training.  Delegates will be encouraged to participate in debate, ask questions and challenge points made by the tutor. Health and safety policy will be explained along with its principal elements, before participants complete a short quiz.

    • First aid box
    • RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations)

    Participants will learn the recommended content of the first aid box and the requirement of RIDDOR.

  • 12:30 - 13:00

    Lunch and refreshments
    • The five steps to risk assessment
    • Some commonly occurring risks

    Through a mixture of teaching and written exercises, participants will explore how to identify and control different types of risks which occur commonly in the work place.

  • 14:15 - 14:30

    Refreshments break
  • Through team work and discussion, participants will prepare a risk assessment for a generic business and discuss how the principles learned throughout the day can be applied in their own work place.

  • 15:30 - 15:55

    Session five: Questions and wrap up
