SPA focuses on Glasgow 2018 after Aberdeen conference cancellation

We had been hoping to use this article as an opportunity to update you on another successful SPA conference, this time in Aberdeen.

Unfortunately, we had to take the decision to cancel the conference, scheduled for 28 September, due to poor ticket sales. We always listen to our members’ suggestions and ideas, and when we had multiple requests for a conference in the north we acted on these and arranged this event. It’s very disappointing; the lineup of speakers was excellent and it was geared up to be a very informative and interesting event. We must thank our sponsors, who as always, were keen to support us.

We’ve hosted a number of “meet and greets” throughout the year and these have proved a great way for paralegals to network with peers and meet the committee. To finish off the year in style we are hosting a “Christmas Pie and Prosecco” evening in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Please watch your inbox for an invitation; here are the dates:

  • Glasgow – 5 December, 5-7.30pm, Faculty Library
  • Edinburgh – 6 December, 5-7.30pm Law Society of Scotland offices.

Preparations have already started for our annual conference, which will be held on Thursday 19 April 2018 in the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow. We have a number of speakers lined up, but we’d like to hear from you regarding speakers or topics you would like covered. Remember this is your conference.

Please keep in touch with us, using Twitter or Facebook. This is a great way to keep up to date with news and details of upcoming CPD events, SPA events and networking events. It’s an ideal way to contact other paralegals and a great forum for discussion between your peers.
