New court among changes in Lothian & Borders practice note

The Sheriff Principal of Lothian & Borders has issued a Practice Note (No 2 of 2014) in relation to applications under the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000. It applies to all applications lodged on or after 2 February 2015. The sheriff principal has also directed that, from the week commencing 2 February 2015, there will be a guardianship court to deal with all applications under the 2000 Act at Edinburgh Sheriff Court. This court will sit on Thursday each week, the first such court being on 5 February 2015. She has nominated Sheriff F L Reith QC, Sheriff D S Corke and Sheriff P J Braid to deal with all such applications as from 2 February 2015 and, if they are not available, any other sheriff at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
