New package of support for law firms to help them focus on strategies for growth

The Society and LBC Wise Counsel are launching an innovative new package of support for law firms to help them focus on strategies for growth, the development of commercial and rainmaking skills, the generation of new business, and the creation of lasting client relationships.

The project builds on successful work to provide the profession with practical written guidance during the downturn, through the publication From Recession to Upturn and “mini-CPD” events held with local faculties. However, many solicitors have asked for further support, moving from CPD into real business advice.

Stephen Gold, former senior partner and founder of Golds Solicitors and now a consultant with LBC Wise Counsel said:

“My own experience of building a business is that the questions we face about strategy, growth and managing effectively are the most challenging. This programme’s ethos is to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit, be practical, affordable, snake-oil free, and delivered by people who have ‘worn the T-shirt’ with credibility and success.”

Neil Stevenson, the Society’s Director of Representation and Professional Support, added: “From LBC’s track record we are confident that this programme will deliver results for all those who seize the opportunity.”

More details of the project and a free launch event to be held in Glasgow on 5 October can be found on the Society’s website at: www.lawscot.org.uk/update/towardsthenewnormal.aspx .
