Claire is a director in the Private Capital division of Burness Paull. She has extensive experience in inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning for individuals, beneficiaries and executors and regularly advises clients in tax mitigation. She has a particular expertise in matters of succession law and domicile and the international aspects of cross border estates and in inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax issues for international clients.
Claire is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), having been awarded the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates (Scotland) with distinction, is a tutor on the private client course on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Glasgow, and is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in private client tax law.
