To begin with we are opening the accreditation to Scottish solicitors and accredited paralegals who can demonstrate a good level of experience in legal technology. We will be opening the accreditation up to other professionals working in legal technology in the near future. The types of experience we are looking for are listed below
- Present externally on areas of legal technology - Examples might be at universities, for clients, or for CPD/CLE for lawyers/legal technologists
- Write about legal technology. Examples might include for textbooks, websites, or for legal/legal technology publications
- Lead legal technology projects (as opposed to being a member of the team)
- Recognised as expert in certain areas of legal technology
- Responsible for the strategic development of technology projects
- Possess knowledge, skills and experience that would be regarded as significantly above the ordinary
The sort of areas that you are involved with might include
- Building client products
- Change management
- Cybersecurity
- Data analytics and visualisation
- Document automation
- E-discovery
- Machine learning
- Use of expert systems
